Antico – Hand Made Bricks

The Antico bricks are handmade one by one and are the epitome of a craftsman’s process. After being formed, they are placed to air dry for entire months in covered rows under the warm Italian sun. Then, usually in the Fall, the whole year’s production is placed in a huge kiln, which is a building in itself and they are fired over for a number of days. We find the process is so interesting that we blogged about it. Each tile is unique, each one is slightly different in color but they match wonderfully together.

The bricks can be bought as a whole, or as fascia and come in two finishes – rough and honed.
